An Innovator in Medical Equipment Leasing, Sales and Service, US Med-Equip’s Three-Year Sales Growth of 146% Landed the Company in the top half of the 2012 Inc. 5000
HOUSTON (Aug. 21, 2012) Houston-based US Med-Equip, Inc. the innovative provider of movable medical equipment rentals, sales and asset management systems, today announced that for the second consecutive year it ranked on Inc. Magazine’s list of America’s 5000 fastest growing private companies. With a rank of 1883, US Med-Equip improved its 2011 Inc. ranking by 156 because of a 146 percent three-year sales growth.
“Being on the Inc. 5000 list for the second consecutive year is a remarkable accomplishment for US Med-Equip and a testament to our hardworking employees who carry out our mission of always putting patient care first by providing quality medical equipment solutions to more than 700 hospital customers,” said Gurmit Bhatia. “We’re humbled to be among some of America’s most successful private companies.”
US Med-Equip is one of the only medical equipment providers for hospitals on the Inc. 5000 list, which ranks nearly 400 companies in the health sector at a time when the industry anticipates long-term growth and job development opportunities while also remaining hesitant about the effects of the Affordable Care Act.
“US Med-Equip is in a niche section of the healthcare industry that is likely to increase its viability in the coming years because of how our business platform helps hospitals save money at a time when budgets are consistently constrained,” said Greg Salario, US Med-Equip’s vice president of business development and co-founder. “As our customers’ needs evolve, so do our solutions. We have introduced several new technological features to our services from online ordering and pickups to our Star Trax equipment asset management system.”
Recently featured in the prestigious RFID Journal, Star Trax is a RFID-enabled asset management system that increases hospital equipment utilization rates above industry averages and curtails lost and stolen equipment. In its first implementation at Memorial Medical Center in Lufkin, Texas, Star Trax increased the hospital’s utilization to 79 percent, well above the industry average.
US Med-Equip attributes its growth to providing smart technological options and 24/7 personalized customer service to hospitals and healthcare facilities that rent or purchase its medical equipment. One way that the company sets itself apart from its competitors is by offering equity discounts to clients who may eventually want to purchase the rented equipment.
Headquartered in Houston, US Med-Equip increased its employee base by 21 percent to 85 employees in 2012. The company has 12 offices in five states and is also listed on the Houston Business Journal’s list of the city’s fastest growing companies.
