An Innovator in Medical Equipment Leasing, Sales and Service, US Med-Equip’s Three-Year Sales Growth of 125% Landed the Company in the top half of the 2011 Inc. 5000
HOUSTON (Aug. 23, 2011) Houston-based US Med-Equip, the innovative provider of movable medical equipment rentals, sales and service, today announced that it ranked 2039 on Inc. Magazine’s annual list of America’s 5000 fastest growing private companies. Reporting a three-year sales growth of 125 percent, US Med-Equip executives credit the company’s strong patient-focused service culture and innovative technology solutions for its outstanding growth.
“It’s an honor for US Med-Equip to be listed on the 2011 Inc. 500I5000 and we recognize the prestige associated with Inc. Magazine’s distinguished listing,” said Gurmit Bhatia, US Med-Equip president. “US Med-Equip’s growth has not only been fast— it’s also been consistent— and we thank our employees for their hard work and our customers for the trust they place in us. We never forget that our efforts support patient care. ”
With over seven million businesses applying, this coveted Inc. Magazine listing captures the most comprehensive gathering of the most important segment of the American economy – independent-minded entrepreneurs. This is the fourth year the magazine published the Inc. 5000 listing, but it has published its Inc. 500 list – the top 10 percent—for 30 years. Microsoft, Zappos, GoDaddy and American Apparel are just some examples of corporations that gained early exposure as members of the Inc. 500 list before becoming household brands and, in some instances, publicly traded companies.
The list is comprised of companies from diverse industries ranging from technology, healthcare and energy to advertising and marketing, but as a whole, Inc. Magazine representatives say the list offers a glimpse of the future of the U.S. economy despite the current volatile national and international markets.
US Med-Equip’s Rapid Growth Continues
With 11 offices in five states and over 70 employees, US Med-Equip is on track for another monumental revenue year in 2011. The company generated $ 9.6 million in sales so far this year, a 28 percent increase over the same period in 2010. Sales over the next four months are also expected to remain strong as US Med-Equip anticipates a 30 percent year-on-year increase.
US Med-Equip attributes its growth to providing smart technological options and 24/7 personalized customer service to hospitals and healthcare facilities that rent or purchase medical equipment. Renting and purchasing refurbished medical equipment is becoming a more viable option for hospital purchasers who are facing shrinking budgets. But what sets US Med-Equip apart from its competitors is that they offer equity to clients who may eventually want to purchase the leased equipment.
What also appeals to many purchasing decision makers is US Med-Equip’s proprietary SMARTS technology system, which enables efficient RFID tracking of rental equipment location and usage so that hospitals can keep accurate inventories and maximize their equipment use and lifespan.
“Patients are our priority so it is important that everything from our technology to service to repair and delivery is done in a fashion that is beneficial to our customers,” said Greg Salario, vice president of business development for US Med-Equip. “US Med-Equip’s growth enables us to continue to be an innovator in medical equipment rentals, leasing and sales, allowing our customers to make efficient and economic decisions that can benefit them in the short and long term.”
US Med-Equip’s dynamic growth has enabled it to expand its customer base and its services. In May, the company announced that it received the contract to serve as first-call provider for the rental of moveable medical equipment for the Louisiana State University (LSU) Hospital System, one of the nation’s largest public healthcare delivery systems. In the same month, US Med-Equip announced a new monitoring and imaging division, led by two industry veterans, that offers a wide range of quality refurbished equipment to hospitals and clinics nationwide. US Med-Equip is also in the process of equipping its support service team with tablet devices that will completely eliminate the need for handling paper forms for both the company and its customers.
